TESDA IX is the regional office of the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) serving the Zamboanga Peninsula. Comprising the provinces of Zamboanga del Norte, Zamboanga del Sur, Zamboanga Sibugay, and the cities of Zamboanga, Isabela, Dipolog, Pagadian, and Dapitan, TESDA IX is dedicated to providing accessible, high-quality technical education and skills development programs.
Our goal is to empower individuals with the skills and competencies needed to thrive in a rapidly evolving job market, supporting both personal and community growth. Aligned with TESDA's national objectives, TESDA IX drives initiatives that foster inclusive economic development and sustainable livelihoods across the region.

Roselo Dela Peña, the owner of ElectroCool Appliance Center, has built a successful career in refrigeration and air conditioning services. His journey began when he participated in the Provincial Skills Competition held at the Provincial Training Center in Sindangan, which led him to pursue certification through TESDA.
With his TESDA certification in Refrigeration and Air Conditioning NC I, he secured employment abroad as an air conditioning installer, gaining four years of hands-on experience. Upon returning to the Philippines, he applied his expertise as an Aircon Maintenance specialist at the Provincial Government of Zamboanga del Norte, where he was later recommended for training in Trainers Methodology Level I in TESDA Zamboanga del Norte.
Now, as the owner of ElectroCool Appliance Center in Polanco, Zamboanga del Norte, Peña continues to showcase the impact of skills training and certification. His story highlights how technical education can open doors to employment, career growth, and entrepreneurship.

CULTIVATING HOPE: Jayson Nonong's Inspiring Journey with TESDA's Coconut Farmers Scholarship Program (CFSP)
After losing his father in 2021, he left school to work as a farm laborer, struggling to support his family.
Hope came when a friend introduced him to TESDA's training programs. In August 2024, he enrolled in Agricultural Crops Production NC II under the Coconut Farmers Scholarship Program (CFSP). Over three months, he gained valuable skills and newfound confidence.
After completing his training in November 2024, Jayson secured a job at the very institution where he trained. Now, he aspires to uplift his community through modern farming techniques. His journey proves that education and opportunity can transform lives.
TESDA Region IX has a network of 389 Accredited Assessment Centers, 616 Accredited Competency Assessors, 172 Registered Training Institutions, including four (4) provincial training centers, Provincial Training Center - Pagadian, Provincial Training Center - Sindangan, Provincial Training Center - Zamboanga Sibugay, and Provincial Training Center - Zamboanga City, two (2) TESDA Administered Schools, Dipolog School of Fisheries and Zamboanga Sibugay Polytechnic Institute (ZSPI) and one (1) regional training center, Regional Training Center - Zamboanga Peninsula, with 734 registered programs and 1,297 TVET Trainers.
